SES to re supply isolated communities due to Far North flooding

The South Australian State Emergency Service (SES) has begun resupply efforts to Innamincka and surrounding stations via Black Hawk Helicopter, supplied under National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) national aerial capability, to support communities with food, fuel and fodder.

Sara Pulford, SES Chief of Staff, acknowledged the efforts of both community and agencies working together to ensure effective distribution of supplies to those impacted by the flooding.

As of this morning, the SES has undertaken re-supply of fuel to the affected community in Gidgealpa, she said.

We have worked closely with agencies, such as Primary Industries and Regions, to ascertain the needs of the community on the ground, ensuring an effective and rapid response for resupply.

We are grateful for both the local, state-wide and national support to ensure the delivery of these essential supplies, providing some relief to community members over this Easter long weekend and into the future.

Emily Bourke, Minister for Emergency Services, said additional resources would assist with flood preparations.

We’ve seen a massive effort by the SES in preparing the township for the Queensland waters heading towards the Innamincka community, she said.
