The SA State Emergency Service (SASES) is the lead response agency for floods, storms and extreme weather including heatwaves in South Australia.

Under the SA Fire and Emergency Services Act 2005, the SASES has a broad responsibility for ensuring community safety and responding to emergency events. Building community resilience to disasters compliments these objectives.

Communities that prepare for these events can reduce the damage, loss and costs associated with floods, storms and extreme weather. The protection of life is the priority for SASES in these events.

This website can assist you in becoming better prepared for floods, storms and extreme heat as well as give you information on what to do just before, during and after these events. The four links in the top right will provide helpful information for flood, storm and heatwaves emergencies plus our involvement in volunteer marine rescue activities.
