Each Association operates in an area beyond where they are physically located. Association members’ private accredited craft are located in many communities as well as their home ports.

All VMR resources are transportable to provide the best use of resources around the State so associations are able to support each other. These range from shallow water capabilities including hovercraft through to 8 metre offshore vessels. Offshore vessels operate up to 30 nautical miles to seaward depending on their location, topographic and hydrographic characteristics.

VMR have identified a lack of resources in the south-east of the State and are actively pursuing opportunities to remedy this situation.
