Operational Support Volunteer

Not all positions during an emergency response are in the field. Most SES units have operational support positions available, whilst some SES units are primarily dedicated to providing operations support. These specialist units are known as Operational Support Units (OSUs).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Operational Support Volunteers at standard units and at OSUs can

undertake any one (or more) of the following duties:

  • Business and Administration Support
  • Operational Communications
  • Logistics
  • Welfare
  • Finance
  • Equipment and Inventory Management
  • Leadership and Management
  • Public Relations and Community Engagement
  • Reconnaissance and Intelligence Gathering
  • Emergency Management and Incident Management
