The SA State Emergency Service training team will be hosting the State Training Challenge in May 2016. The focus of the Training Challenge is to provide an opportunity for volunteers to develop their skills and knowledge in core SES functions as well as a development opportunity for upcoming challenge officials.

The challenge will be held at the SA Metropolitan Fire Service's Training Centre at 480 Grand Junction Road, Angle Park and will be open for the public to attend.

Eight teams will take part in a series of simulated scenarios designed to test rescue skills along with storm damage and land search operations.

Some of the scenarios will involve removing casualties so leadership and delegation, along with safety and basic first aid skills, will be put to the test.

The challenge will be open to the public from 8am to 3pm on Saturday, 28 May and from 8am to 12pm on Sunday, 29 May.

Visitors will be given a safety briefing before entering the site and must wear enclosed footwear.
