2007 SA Emergency Service Medals & Ministerial Commendations
On Friday 30th November the Minister for Emergency Services the Hon Carmel Zollo MLC presented the Emergency Service Medals and Ministerial Commendations to Emergency Service Staff and Volunteers.
Among those who received these honours were a number of SES representatives both staff and volunteers. Congratulations to Sindy McCourt and Terri Purvis who both received Emergency Service Medals from the Minister. Also congratulations to Jeffrey Kerley and the Laura SES Road Crash Rescue Competition Team (Edward Davenport, Robert Klemm, Geoffrey Klemm, Michael Victory, Scott Watson, Peter Zwar) who received Ministerial Commendations.

KESAB Award
Members of the Leigh Creek SES Unit were presented with a KESAB Tidy Towns Award. The award was "in recognition of meritorious effort in the thirtieth annual tidy towns program" for the "Strzelecki Track clean up".·
Unfortunately the unit members were unable to attend the event which was held in Adelaide. Pictured right is Sindy McCourt, Acting North Region SES Senior Regional Officer who accepted the award on their behalf by.

International Volunteers' Day
On Wednesday 5th December 2007 volunteers all over the world will be celebrating.
This week Felicity Hopkinson trialled her "Truck Cake" on the SES and Volunteer Management Staff at state headquarters. |

Felicity who is a member of the Campbelltown SES Unit will be celebrating with other members of her unit on Wednesday night.

Campbelltown SES Unit working with Local Government and serving the community
Campbelltown Council provided Campbelltown State Emergency Service (SES) Volunteers with a valuable training exercise at Thorndon Park Reserve recently.
A close working relationship between Council and the local SES has been invaluable over the years, and so when Campbelltown SES Unit Manager Andrew Rowe approached Council for a tree felling training opportunity for his Volunteers, the response was positive. Luckily the Council had just designated a group of dead and dying gum trees for removal from the park area.
