A thousand thank yous
It was a pleasure to read the Yorke Peninsula Country Times this week, in particular the Your View section. A heartfelt letter was written to the editor describing a traumatic accident on the sea and thanking the volunteer rescuers for their assistance. The Port Victoria Royal Coastal Patrol volunteers braved the cold night and icy water to save 2 men and help bring them to safety.

Farewell to two SES staff members
This month we said farewell to Pam Hundtermark from Central Region and Richard Coombe from State Headquarters.
Pam worked for 23 years as the Regional Administration Officer for Central Headquarters. During that time she assisted many volunteers and Regional Commanders. We wish her the very best in her retirement.
In his farewell speech, Richard Coombe who has worked for SES for 6 years, remembered all of the volunteers and staff who have meant a lot to him. He is now working for the Country Fire Service as their Regional Commander, Region 3 at Murray Bridge. So we expect that even though the CFS will be benefitting from Richard's expertise he will also work with the SES again in the future.
